He uses the strategy builder called EA studio with the option to change the back test period. In the video you will see how he changes the end date for the back test by removing the last one month. After the strategies are generated he selects which ones he wants to use, and he places back the last 1 month.
This way the best Forex strategies are being tested for 1 months but actually the process takes few minutes. This is 100% simulation of demo trading. And this is the first method that Petko Aleksandrov teaches in his course.
The normal way to test Expert Advisors is to place them on a demo account and test them 4 month or two. After that we select the best Forex strategies with the best performance that we see during this 1 month and place them on a Live account. The problem is that when we are trading on a demo account will lose potential profits because in order to select the best Forex strategies we are having profits on the demo account but not on the live account.
