Bitcoin starts the new week at the now familiar level below $50,000, but that may soon change. Another attempt to break above $50,000 over the weekend ended in failure, and bitcoin leaves traders in the dark about the immediate future. The 2021 close looks especially puzzling. Just two weeks before January 1, the kind of highs that characterized growth in 2013 and in 2017 are unlikely to be repeated, but many factors unanimously point to the possibility of the first cryptocurrency's price rising.
Not again, but again.
Sunday's attempt to break $50,000 took place, but the bulls failed to maintain the result. It's a familiar situation, and it came as no surprise to seasoned market participants.
"$53,000 was also my key level. Overcome it and we are back in business," wrote analyst William Clemente.
From the perspective of TechDev's popular crypto analyst, the current market situation "rhymes" with previous bullish cycles and seems similar to Q4 last year - the moment before bitcoin began its spectacular rise: "In my opinion, there is about as much reason for bearish sentiment now as there was in late 2020 before the first major rise."
