Why the Fed and BOJ Just Changed Everything #marketalert #fed
The global rate-hike cycle returned this week. The Federal Reserve raised rates by 25 basis points to 3.75%–4.00%, the Bank of Japan moved to a 31-year high of 1.25%, and the Bank of England held at 3.75% with three policymakers voting to hike.

Oil above $109 revived inflation fears before Brent eased near $103 on Friday. Gold rose to roughly $4,390, the Canadian dollar weakened for an eighth straight session, and $23.21 billion left global equity funds.

The next major catalyst arrives Sunday, when U.S. and Chinese officials meet to discuss AI, rare earths, tariffs and market access ahead of the September 24 Trump–Xi summit. Watch the U.S. 10-year yield near 5%, oil infrastructure and the yen after the BOJ decision.
