During my struggling years as a forex trader, one of the most annoying and painful lessons I’ve learned is getting stopped out prematurely.

Most times, I have guessed the right direction, but price would take me out of the trade, and left off just as I have predicted. WITHOUT ME.

In these times the stop loss actually hurts me more than it protects me. Altough you should ALWAYS trade with one, it’s imperative to know where to place it.

1. BE WARY OF STOP HUNT ZONES
2. DO NOT MINIMIZE YOUR SL FOR THE SAKE OF RISK TO REWARD
