How to import Historical data in MetaTrader
How to import Historical data in MetaTrader: https://eaforexacademy.com/software/forex-historical-data/

If you want to backtest Expert Advisor in Meta Trader but you don't have a
reliable or you have a small historical data, you can download the data from the Forex Historical Data App and you can import it in Meta Trader.

This is what I will show you in this video. Let's select the symbol. For example, I will select USDCAD. I will load the data and from the format,
I will select Meta Trader (CSV). Let's say that I have an Expert Advisor for M15 time-frame and I will download the data.

I will open Meta Trader and I will go to USDCAD. I will right-click over it and Chart window. It will open a new chart window. I will select M15 and I will press the Home key to see how much data I have on USDCAD.

I have the data from 17th of June, 2020. If I press the Home key, it will load some more data from the server. Or pressing the Home key forces the Meta Trader to load the maximum bars that are available.

And this is the maximum. I will take the crosshair and this is the 15th of November 2017. And the data that I have downloaded starts in 2012. So it is much more data to use for backtesting the Expert Advisor.

I will go to Meta Trader now and I will go to Tools, History Center. From here, I need to find USDCAD and I will click on M15 two times. This is the data that is available on the chart from the server of the broker.

I will have to delete it in order to import the data that I have downloaded
from the Forex Historical Data App. How you can do that is if you click on the first row and then you scroll to the bottom and press shift on your keyboard and click on the last row.

This will mark all the data and then I will press on Delete. After that, you can see that I will not have any data on the chart behind. I will select import and I will find the data that I have just downloaded.

Click on Open and I click on OK. Now, the data is imported. I will close the window and if I press the Home key now and take the crosshair, you will see that this is the data from 2012. And now I am ready to do a backtest on complete and reliable historical data in Meta Trader.
